thisisme.id

how it works, in detail.

the long version. the short version is just: make → share → compare.

🖐️

1. make your card

tap "make mine →" and you're off. no forms, no passwords, no email double-checks — you build first, sign in only when you want to keep it.

you pick exactly 5 things. they're completely freeform — type whatever you're about, pick an emoji for each. coffee, cats, your hometown, a feeling, a bus route. there's no list of allowed answers.

then you claim your link: thisisme.id/yourname. we check availability as you type, so you know instantly if it's yours. about a minute, start to finish.

🪪

2. what's on your card

your card is one page, built like a little trading card: your name, your @username, where you are, and what you're currently up to.

your 5 things are the heart of it — big, tappable rows with emoji, straight from your own words.

if a friend ever added something to your card, it shows up marked as "from a friend" — so visitors can tell what you said about yourself and what other people said about you.

3. the daily question

every day there's one question for everyone on thisisme — the same one, worldwide. something small and playful, like "what are you snacking on right now?"

your answer shows on your card for 24 hours. then it quietly disappears — unless you keep it, in which case it stays pinned until you change it.

it's the bit that makes cards feel alive: even your friends' cards have something new to read today.

🤝

4. compare with a friend

send anyone the link to compare with you. they pick their 5 things, and thisisme works out how similar you two really are.

you get a playful match score (it's never a mean 0%), the exact things you share, and the things only one of you picked — sometimes the fun part is what makes you different.

the result is shareable too, so you can post your score and dare more friends to beat it.

💡

5. friends add to your card

share your card with people who know you and they can suggest things you might not say about yourself — your best friend remembers the phase you won't admit to.

nothing goes live automatically. every suggestion waits for you, and you approve or dismiss it one by one. your card is always your card.

💬

6. connects & dms

when someone compares their card with yours, you can send them a connect from your compare list. if they connect back, it's mutual — and a dm thread opens between you.

that's it. no follower counts, no friend requests, no public following. connections only ever start from a real comparison.

dms is part of PRO — basic cards can't unlock the connect list.

🎁

7. PRO — one $7 purchase, forever

everything above is free and stays free. PRO is a single one-time buy — $7, once, no subscription ever — that unlocks the make-it-yours layer:

  • custom card colours and your own hex
  • custom fonts and three card layouts
  • upload your own background picture
  • 3 extra things, and they can be tappable links
  • your face — a photo or 5-second video on the card
  • keep daily answers forever
  • a business card with your scannable code
  • connects & dms
  • remove the thisisme.id footer from your page
📮

8. share it everywhere

every card has a share button — copy the link or send it straight to whatsapp, x, telegram, email, wherever.

when you post your link, it unfurls into a preview of your actual card, so people see who you are before they even tap.

there's also a scan code on every card: point a camera at it and it opens the page — perfect for meetups, laptops and fridge-magnet energy.

🔒

9. the boring-but-important bits

you can edit anything, any time, from one place — your card, your things, your look.

friend suggestions never publish themselves. comparisons and scores stay between the two people involved.

you can report anyone and block anyone, and blocking cuts off connects and dms both ways.

no feeds, no streaks, no notifications begging you back. the app is deliberately tiny — make it, share it, come back for the daily question.
